Best Weed Brownies Recipe You Should Try

You’ve heard of the basic weed brownie recipe: get store-bought mix and infuse it with cannabutter. Why not take it up a notch and make your own from scratch? We have created this double chocolate brownie recipe to trump the rest of the weed brownie recipes online. This recipe unlocks a new level of scrumptiousness that will leave you reaching for that second square! (Note: Be careful about the dosing so that you won’t consume too much cannabis!)

How To Make Cannabutter

The most special ingredient in this recipe is the cannabutter. Cannabutter is cannabis-infused butter. The butter is melted and mixed with activated weed which results in a potent ingredient. Cannabutter can also be stored in the fridge and used for other ingredients in the future, from this classic brownie recipe to your very own spaghetti sauce. Ingredients
  • 0.16 grams ground high-quality cannabis flower
  • Wooden spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper to cover the baking sheet
  • Grinder
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup water
  • Saucepan
  • Thermometer
  • Mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Jars or glass food containers
  1.  Raw cannabis flower is non-psychoactive. The first step is to use heat to activate the CBD and THC compounds. This process is called decarboxylation. Grind the flower using scissors or your bare hands and spread them over the parchment-lined baking tray. Bake this for half an hour at 245 degrees Fahrenheit and then allow it to cool.
  2.  Mix the ground flowers with unsalted butter. Since the weed is already partially decarboxylated, you only need to put this mixture over low heat for only 45 minutes. Use a thermometer to ensure that the temperature does not exceed 190 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3.  Allow the mixture to cool before straining through a mesh strainer or a cheesecloth. Run it twice if necessary. You might want to squeeze the cheesecloth as it soaks up some of the butter.
  4.  Pour the cannabutter into a food-safe container, let it cool, and then store it in the refrigerator.
  5.  The dosing depends on the THC/CBD percentage of 0.16 grams of flower, which should be about 160 mg.  Keep that in mind as you use cannabutter. If you wish to lower the dosage, simply take the amount of cannabutter with your desired dosage and then fill in the rest that the recipe calls for with some unsalted butter.

How To Make Delicious Weed Brownies

  • 1/3 cup cannabutter
  • ¼ cup natural cocoa powder
  • ½ cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup nuts, toasted and chopped
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 pcs large eggs
  1.  Take an 8x8-inch pan and butter the surface. Lightly dust it with some cocoa. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2.  Melt the dark chocolate and cannabutter together by placing these ingredients in a bowl and then turning the microwave on at 10-second intervals. After that, mix in the salt, vanilla, molasses, and sugar.
  3.  Gradually add the two eggs, mixing as you go. Beat the entire mixture for about 5 minutes until a ribbon forms at the top of the batter whenever you remove the whisk. Add the chopped and toasted nuts and fold the batter in. lastly, sift in the cocoa and flour. Avoid overmixing as that can alter the texture of the finished brownies.
  4.  Pour your brownie batter into the pan and then pop it at the center of the oven. Bake it for about 25 minutes or until the top becomes glossy and begins to slightly crack. The edges will also become firmer which is a sign of doneness. The best way to check if your brownies are good to go is by inserting a toothpick and then checking if it comes out clean. The corners should also have some moist crumbs.
  5.  Allow the brownie pan to cool for 10 minutes before cutting. You may also plunge the pan in cold water as soon as you remove it from the oven if you want to achieve that crisp outer layer yet chewy inside. This recipe makes 16 squares, amounting to 10 mg per square.
  6.  The brownie squares may be kept in an airtight container and in a refrigerator and these can last for a week. For longer-term storage, place the brownie squares in Ziploc bags and pop them in the freezer. These will last for weeks.
